What can Xbox give you in 2015, free of charge?

"With Xbox Live Gold, you get the most advanced multiplayer, free games, exclusive member discounts up to 50-75% on games in the Xbox Store, and more. And on Xbox One, it's even better, with smarter, faster matchmaking, and online multiplayer for everyone in your home," said the Xbox website.

With the Games With Gold subscription, people can also download games for free during a certain length of time.

According to Polygon, the Gold program has, in North America, given savings of $584.67 for 34 free games over the twelve months of 2014 for those registered under the $60 plan.

"The free games ranged from $9.99 titles like 'Halo: Spartan Assault' to 'Darksiders 2,' currently listed for $39.99 on Xbox Live Marketplace," it said.

We give you five titles we think will be up for grabs in January.

[1] "Max: The Curse of Brotherhood"

Released in December 2013, the game is 9/10 on Steam and 3.5/5 on Metacritic. With more than 16,000 reviews on Xbox, it has four stars.

The title is an action adventure game throwing puzzles at Max, who goes on a journey to save his kidnapped brother. He has to be courageous as he goes into and through the hostile world of caves and caverns, forests and deserts, among others, and must use his magical marker to his advantage.

[2] "Just Dance 2014"

With 2014 about to end, Xbox could give the title -- 3.5 stars in 3,368 reviews -- just for memory's sake.

"'Just Dance 2014' is the ULTIMATE party game and takes the dancing experience to a whole new level," Xbox said of the SmartGlass-enabled game. "Dance to brand new songs by your favourite artists and dive into fun and unique environments inspired by pop culture references."

[3] "Call of Duty: Ghosts"

From the Call of Duty line, the title was released in November 2013 and now has an 8/10 rating from Gamespot. The chaos of virtual warfare is always a welcome booster.

The plot is not about winning but surviving, the game description stated. "As what's left of the nation's Special Operations forces, a mysterious group known only as 'Ghosts' leads the fight back against a newly emerged, technologically superior global power."

[4] "Stick It to the Man"

Released in August last year, the game puts a cartoon twist on psychic abilities. It has 3.5 stars on the Xbox site, and would be a good kick-starter for kids 12 and above.

"Ray has a bizarre accident and wakes up with a giant pink spaghetti arm sticking out of his brain, giving him extraordinary mind-reading powers," said the page. He is able to manipulate his universe with stickers, but must run from a villain, "The Man."

[5] "Forza Motorsport 5"

Speed and cool cars are always a good thing, and with four stars of five from nearly 40,000 people, it would not be bad to start 2015.

Available in French,German, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese, among others, said the Xbox website, it is not far-fetched that the game released late in 2013 will be out to fulfill "your ultimate car fantasy.
