Two Apple notebooks are expected to launch this year, well, according to speculations. Since 2014, reports surrounding a Retina MacBook Air and a revamped MacBook Pro have eagerly surfaced, getting louder as the next Worldwide Developers Conference approaches. The gathering, as told by MacRumors, could take place from June 8 - 12, based on a "corporate event" assigned in Moscone Center's 2015 summer schedule.

We've curated the most recent information aimed at the alleged MacBook models, to see how they compare with each other. Check them out below.

Release Date

Before we get into specs, mind that one MacBook is rumored to appear before the other. According to TechRadar, reports have indicated that the MacBook Air Retina could launch Q1 2015, which only means that any time from now -- until the end of March -- would be a viable release time frame.

On the other hand, the PC Advisor predicted that the new MacBook Pro makes an appearance at the upcoming WWDC. Otherwise, the outlet saw the possibility of another launch date in July.

However, considering the fact that Apple has unveiled two iPhones (iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus) and two iPads (iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3) in similar occasions, will the new MacBooks join forces in a single event as well?

Design & Display

Just like its predecessors, the 2015 MacBook Pro is expected to come in 13- and 15-inch versions, the Gospel Herald reported. In particular, the earlier models packed diagonal measurements of 13.3 inches and 15.4 inches, respectively. Both have Retina Display.

Meanwhile, the MacBook Air Retina has been eyed to come at a measurement between that of its predecessors. As Gotta Be Mobile put it, reports have indicated that the next MacBook Air comes with a 12-inch screen. Earlier models came at 11 and 13 inches.

Of course, it goes to say that the upcoming MacBook Air will the first among its kind to feature Retina Display.

Processor and RAM

According to Christian Today, word along the grapevine has it that the new MacBook Pro makes use of Intel's new Broadwell chipsets. The laptop is also said to retain the similar amount of RAM for both of its versions: 8 GB for the 13-inch model and 16 GB for the 15-inch type.

Citing information from the Motley Fool, the Inquisitr reported that the MacBook Air Retina might pack a Core M processor, but not "full" Core i5 / i7 parts. The outlet took note of a Dell rep's remarks, "The Intel Core M processor, to my knowledge, uses the exact same silicon die as the 15-watt Core i3/i5/i7 chips with the lower graphics configuration (known as GT2; the higher-end configuration is GT3)."

"I believe a 12-inch Retina MacBook Air using a Core M processor is likely to offer lower performance than the Haswell processors found inside today's 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air models. However, if Apple does a good job with the industrial design of the system, the chip might be able to run at higher speeds for longer," the rep added.

Macworld predicted that the new MacBook Air comes with either 4 GB or 8 GB of RAM.

Other Specs

The Gospel Herald cited rumors, which claimed that the new MacBook Pro comes with 4K touchscreen display, Touch ID system and an improved trackpad.

As for the MacBook Air Retina, Macworld expected to see 128 GB / 256 GB / 512 GB flash storage options and 12 hours of battery life. Unfortunately, the laptop may not pack come with MagSafe, ThunderBolt or SD card reader, GBM said.

No official price offers regarding the models have been released as of press time.
