Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck's anthology is set for its fifth season, and they have revealed their next theme. Welcome to "American Horror Story: Hotel."

Unfortunately, the watchword means that fan theories of the next story being in a chemical warfare will have to be thrown out the window.

The fifth season, which is set to premiere in October, lists pop icon Lady Gaga (real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) as the first confirmed cast member and series regular in the widely popular, Emmy-nominated series.

Gaga herself made the announcement via Twitter, when she posted a teaser video, and noting: "Make your reservation now. #GagaAHSHotel."

Mother Monster is having a whirlwind year so far. According to CNN, Gaga's casting will serve as her acting debut, and it came shortly after her engagement to "Chicago Fire" actor Taylor Kinney", as well as her shockingly touching tribute for "Sound of Music" at the Oscars, both of which dominated the media scene.

Rolling Stone noted that Gaga already did have acting stints that included cameos in "Machete Kills," "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For," and "Muppets Most Wanted." However, AHS will be her first recurring role where she won't be credited "As Herself" on a show.

Despite the out-of-the-box casting choice by Murphy, it's not the first time he went to the music world for cast members in his shows. In season 3, titled "Coven," for instance, he recruited Stevie Nicks as a "white witch." Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas are also cast in his new series, "Scream Queens," and a slew of musicians, including Adam Lambert appeared on "Glee."

"Hotel" may have a different cast, considering that AHS veterans and series regulars Emma Roberts, Sarah Paulson, and Jessica Lange are unlikely to return for the next season. Roberts and Paulson have already been cast in other Murphy projects - Roberts in "Scream Queens" and Paulson in "American Crime Story: The People v. OJ Simpson."

Of course, with both actresses still in his hands, Murphy can play around with the schedules to still fit them in AHS, however, that may seem unlikely.

Vanity Fair also noted that last season's send-off for Lange serves as confirmation that the award-winning actress will no longer be appearing in any future AHS seasons.

Details about "Hotel" are being kept under wraps, however Vanity Fair noted that it will be set in the modern age (probably in the present or at least in the last two and a half decades) and will be undergoing a radical-reinvention, the extent of which though still unknown.

Lady Gaga proved at the Oscars that she's definitely one talented artist, but do you think her talent extends to acting?

"American Horror Story: Hotel" is set to return on the small screens this October.
