We've already seen a slew of heroes and villains in CW's "The Flash" and "Arrow" series, and it seems that DC Comics is using both shows as avenue for more program introductions.

According to Movie Pilot, a new series is in its early development stages, and it will feature some characters we've already met: The Atom (Brandon Routh), Firestorm (Victor Garber), Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Canary (Caity Lotz). Three other heroes will also appear on either shows.

However, Deadline noted that with Lotz's character Sara Lance being killed off in "Arrow," and the Canary's character taken over by Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) it is unclear whether or not Lotz will play the same part or a different one than that of her "Arrow" persona.

It is also unclear why Victor Garber is cast as Firestorm, but the other half of the pair has been missed out on. However, Robbie Amell said in an interview with Comic Book that there is a possibility of having Firestorm reappear on "The Flash" before the season ends. He said, "They haven't made anything official but it sounds like I'll be back for the end of the season. And if what they're telling me about comes to be, it's going to absolutely blow people away."

As for Atom leading the spinoff, Routh told IGN, "With any character you bring on this show that's a possibility, depending on how the fans react and the character is received and developed. You know they've shown with The Flash that just being a part of Arrow that it can work. It's exciting. The sky's the limit. DC and The CW have done a great job with the two shows and the platforms in terms [of] being their own entities. What the future holds, who knows? But anything is a possibility."

Another crossover will be occurring for "Arrow" and "The Flash" soon as Brandon Routh's Atom will be going to Central City for the first time with Felicity Smoak. Movie Pilot added.

The Hollywood Reporter also noted that the spinoff was hinted first during the Television Critics Association in January.

IGN said that "Arrow" creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Marc Guggenheim are working on the project, but for now, no title has been mentioned, although the development team is describing it as "a superhero team-up show."

Which superheroes do you think will be part of the spinoff series?
