Just like in previous years, shopping at Walmart on and after Thanksgiving Day has proven to be chaotic and, in some cases, violent.

A number of videos have surfaced online capturing the rowdy crowds and different fights that broke out between customers looking for a bargain at Walmart stores across the country.

One video recorded a stampede of shoppers who broke through police barricades to enter into a Walmart in Puerto Rico. In another video, two police officers are seen aggressively throwing a woman to the ground in order to constrain her from fighting with another customer. (See below.)

Many of the violent incidents that took place at the world's biggest retailer were documented under the hashtag #WalmartFights, which began trending overnight. Shoppers at Walmart stores in a handful of states also uploaded photos and Vine videos showing violence, injuries and arrests during the retailer's first few hours of sales. Other Twitter users posted photos of ambulances and stretchers at various Walmart stores.

In addition, NBC News reports that at least three people got into a brawl in the parking lot of a Walmart in Rialto, Calif., because shoppers allegedly were cutting the line. Two were taken into custody, according to police.

At another Walmart in West Virginia, a man was slashed to the bone with a knife after threatening another man with a gun. The altercation was over a parking spot, police said.

In New Jersey, a shopper was charged with aggravated assault after getting into an argument over a television set with a Walmart manager.

Following is a sample of the YouTube and Vine videos capturing the madness.
