Andrew Garfield will not be playing the web-slinger for the third time, however, with Shailene Woodley's role as Mary Jane Watson cut from the second film, is there a possibility that she can play Peter Parker's love interest again in the reboot?

According to the International Business Times, Sony Pictures Entertainment is still on the prowl for their perfect Peter Parker, however, the main love interest may have been cast three years ago as "Insurgent" star, and Shailene Woodley is willing to give the role another try.

In an interview with Clevver News to promote her latest film, the 23-year-old actress was genuinely unaware of the Sony and Marvel deal that directly involved "Spider-Man" and its future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She said, "I didn't know that, actually. That's amazing."

When asked if she would be willing to play the role again for the 2017 film, she enthusiastically replied, "Heck, yeah!"

However, Shailene won't be fitting the bill as Mary Jane if Sony and Marvel goes ahead with their plans of casting a much younger Peter Parker.

Reboot talks aside, it seems that there has been news going around that there is a possibility of Andrew Garfield reprising his role in "The Amazing Spider-Man 3". According to Christian Today, there have been claims of the third film still being in the works and alongside Garfield's Peter Parker is Dane De Haan as Harry Osborn.

However, with the new Sony and Marvel deal in place, there has been no confirmation of the third film still ongoing, as it is most likely that Spiderman will be in for a reboot if Marvel is to debut him in "Captain America: Civil War" as previously reported.

It seems that all good things came to Spiderman when Sony signed the hero back to Disney and Marvel, as there have been reports of the wall-crawler's merchandise spiking since the announcement was made, making him a bigger superhero compared to what he once was without the company of the other Avengers.

But with no Spider-Man to replace Garfield as of yet, fans are having a ball trying to get their favorite young actors to be the heroes, with suggestions noted by Just Jared ranging from Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson, Fury) to Dylan O' Brien (The Maze Runner).

Do you think Andrew Garfield can play the web-slinger for the third time with Shailene Woodley as his new love interest, or is Sony giving "The Amazing Spider-Man" the axe and letting Marvel take over?
