With the upcoming release of driving video game "Gran Turismo 7" in PlayStation 4, it is said to reclaim the dominance of PlayStation in racing games which it held for many years until the release of "Driveclub" in October last year.

According to MasterHerald, "Driveclub" became a hit to most of the players because of its graphics but noted that this will already be set aside by PlayStation with its expected release of Gran Turismo "GT7" this year or next year.

The same report said that the game will be based on the same physics engine of "Gran Turismo 6" but users will be able to experience "a more powerful" gameplay with "GT7" which will be published by Sony Computer Entertainment.

The MasterHerald report also noted that since the exclusive launch of "Driveclub" on the PS4, it has already become "the console's flagship racing game."

MasterHerald, however noted that there are some reasons why "Driveclub" should not be PlayStation's franchise racing game. These reasons include the absence of popular car brands. The said game also does not resemble any racing game in video arcades which players usually look for in these types of games.

"Worst, there are penalties in "Driveclub" that is kind of improbable in a racing game, especially the ones in video arcades, and certainly not the "Gran Turismo" series. Having penalties for cutting corners or crashing into a car ahead of the gamer's car is just too absurd for racing gamers," added MasterHerald in its report.

Latino Post also discussed that gamers can expect audio improvement in the upcoming release.

"I think the quality of the sounds in 'Gran Turismo 6' will be improved, but most of the work will be done in 'Gran Turismo 7,'" franchise creator Kazunori Yamauchi was quoted as saying.

He added that they expect things to run naturally for "GT7.""

"PS3 was much, much more difficult. The high quality of data that we have being rendered on the PS4 I think is going to make an incredible difference," Yamauchi noted assuring gamers that this is a better version of the previous one especially in terms of visuals.

"For GT7, myself and my staff have a clear vision: to do everything we couldn't do in GT6. We want to make it very 'Gran Turismo.' By that I mean it's going to be a game that matches the very era that we live in, in 2015 or 2016," the franchise creator added.

Despite the improvements it needed, "Gran Turismo 6" won last year a Gold Prize at the PlayStation Awards for outstanding sales in Japan. Latino Post said Yamauchi was a no-show during the awards night raising speculations that the franchise is busy preparing for a better sequel of the game.
