'Melissa & Joey' Season 3 Christmas Special: Melissa and Joey Get in the Holiday Spirit
Before the comedy sitcom "Melissa and Joey" returns with an all-new episode on Jan. 15, the show will ring in the holidays with a Christmas episode premiering on ABC Family Wednesday, Dec. 11.
This will be the first time the stars of the original ABC series, Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence, get into the holiday spirit with a Christmas special for the show. In addition, ABC is set to air a holiday special of "Baby Daddy" right after on the same night.
A joint teaser of the specials released by ABC doesn't reveal many spoilers, however, it's clear the characters on both shows are big on holiday decorations. Furthermore, there's a clip of Joey and Melissa finally getting romantic, plus Jaime Pressly will guest star on the show.
Fans of the shows will have a chance to chat with the cast members from both shows who will be live tweeting that night during the East Coast feeds, answering fan questions and sharing behind-the-scenes tidbits about the episodes, reports Sitcoms Online.
Viewers will also be in for a treat come the new year. The show will pick up where the summer cliff-hanger left off. According to TVequals.com, Joe rushes home to tell Mel that he has feelings for her after the two spent a romantic night together in New Jersey. When he arrives, he's shocked to find Austin, played by guest star Trevor Donovan, petitioning Mel for a second chance. Feeling discouraged, Joe quits, deciding he can't stay and watch them fall in love all over again.
In the meantime, Lennox comes up with a plan to get Joe and Mel together while Ryder gets sick from his own cooking.
The "Melissa & Joey" and "Baby Daddy" Christmas specials are set to air Wednesday, Dec. 11 with "Melissa & Joey" at 8 p.m. EST and Baby Daddy at 8:30 p.m. EST.
