The Android 5.1 Lollipop update has reportedly arrived in some Android phone models and it will soon come to Motorola models after Google uploaded the source code for the update about six weeks ago.

Android Police said that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge seemed to be the first phone to get the upgrade. The device was reportedly launched just a few weeks ago with Android 5.0. The report added that there were feedback from owners seeing the upgrade on Wednesday with someone even uploading it to YouTube.

"While it's nowhere near as big a jump as 4.4 'KitKat' to 5.0, it does fix a ton of bugs from the initial Lollipop release and refined a lot of the user interface changes," added Android Police.

With the latest upgrade to the S6 Edge, the same report said that it would not be long before an update will also be available for the Galaxy S6, making Samsung the first phone company to get 5.1 for its devices.

A similar Gospel Herald article said that the same update will soon be available to the Moto G, Moto X (1st and 2nd Gen), and Moto E. It added that there are signs that indicate that Motorola is already preparing its flagship devices for the Android 5.1 Lollipop.

For the Moto G (2nd Gen and 1st Gen), TechDroider published a photo of the Android 5.1 Lollipop on the 2nd Gen though it noted that there is still no official announcement from Motorola about the update schedule.

"For now, users are still stuck on the first generation Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware. The first-generation Moto G device is also awaiting an Android 5.1 Lollipop update as well. Also dubbed the Moto G (2013), the Moto G (1st Gen) is currently running Android 5.0 Lollipop," explained Gospel Herald.

Motorola has also reportedly released an Android 5.1 Lollipop changelog for the 2nd Gen Moto X after it announced that it was testing the Android 5.1 Lollipop on the Moto X (2014).

For the Moto X (1st Gen), Gospel Herald said that at the moment, the new update has only been made available for Brazilian users, and it is still unclear when it will be available for U.S. subscribers. The delay was attributed to the chipset of the phone which is said to be the old Snapdragon S4 Pro.

"In March, Motorola conducted a limited-scale Android 5.0 soak test for the Moto X (2013). Though test results were never made public, the Moto X (2013) did not receive the expected Android 5.0.2 Lollipop Update," explained Gospel Herald.

Aside from these devices, the Moto E is also believed to get the Android 5.1 Lollipop upgrade.

Users, for sure, cannot wait for the upgrade to come as they are looking forward if it will create an entirely new user experience for them.
