A number of Android devices are now able to get a taste of Lollipop 5.1.1 updates, thanks to custom ROMs.

First on this list is the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE model, which received the new EuphoriaOS series custom firmware. Based on AOSP (Android Open Source Project) 5.1.1 Lollipop OS, the build provides performance upgrades, customization features and bug fixes, International Business Times noted.

To prevent unintended bricking, the firmware must only be installed on Note 3 devices bearing model number SM-N9005, the outlet said. At least 80% of battery is recommended for successful flashing. Download the custom firmware here.

A EuphoriaOS Android 5.1.1 build has also been made available for the Sony Xperia Z (aka Yuga), IBT wrote in another article. Users are advised to root their devices via SuperSU prior to installation. The build may be downloaded here.

The HTC One M8 is ready to flash the feature-packed, Android 5.1.1-updated TeamUB custom ROM, WCCFtech cited. As told by the outlet, the build comes with OTA updates, disregarding the need to flash new ROMs for future Lollipop updates.

The build features listview animations, lock-screen shortcuts, app circle sidebar, battery percent in the status bar, custom notification lights, recent panel settings, network traffic indicator and wakelock blocker, among others. Download the build here.

Next on this list is the Samsung Galaxy S3. The earlier flagship is able to get the Android 5.1.1 update through BlissPop ROM, Yibada noted. According to the outlet, the firmware is a highly-customized ROM based on CyanogenMod 12.1.

It must be noted that the ROM works with Galaxy S3 units carrying model number I9300. Get the firmware here.

The much-later Samsung Galaxy S5 (klte) may also be upgraded to Android 5.1.1 through the BlissStalk custom ROM, IBT wrote. The build may be downloaded here.

Meanwhile, Android 5.1.1 OTA updates for the Nexus 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 and the Nexus Player are rolled out in phases, the Venture Capital Post reported. According to the outlet, owners may update manually, flash factory images or make use of custom ROMs.

When updating via factory images, users will be using files direct from Google. As of press time, the update is available for the Nexus Player, Nexus 9 Wi-Fi, Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi (razor), Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 Wi-Fi (nakasi).

Flashing custom firmwares and factory images require successful completion of very technical procedures that are best exercised with caution.
