Six years after their catastrophic breakup, a new report reveals that Rihanna is still in love with her ex-lover Chris Brown. According to Hollywoood Life's source, Riri has told her current boyfriend, soccer star Karim Benzema, that Chris will always have a special place in her heart despite everything.

Rihanna and her new beau started making the headlines early in June 2015 - almost a year after they first met each other at the 2014 World Cup Tournament. In a previous report, an insider spilled that the "Bitch Better Have My Money" is more into Karim than her exes CB and Drake.

Riri still gave her boyfriend the reassurance that she adores him and that she won't leave him hanging. However, she was also very transparent to say that she'll always treasure Chris. "Rihanna does like Karim and enjoys him a lot. He treats her well and he's such a stud in everything he does," a source shared in an interview with HollywoodLife.com. "She told him she won't break his heart but did tell him she'll always love Chris."

The confession came after Karim noticed the look in Rihanna's eyes while CB's pulling off his "Post To Be" performance at the BET Awards. "Karim feels very insecure after seeing Rihanna's face light up as she danced and sang along to Chris' music," the source added. "He didn't even want her to attend the show."

Explaining how Karim honestly felt during that moment, the source continued: "The look in her eyes, the way she gazed at Chris, was a look Karim's never seen before,"

"He told Rihanna all this, and told her he doesn't feel he can compete with Chris and that perhaps the two of them are better off as friends."

The singer respected her lover's feelings and reactions. "Rihanna listened to Karim and essentially told him that he's right," said the source.

"That it's going to be extremely hard for anyone to compete with Chris,"

Explaining why Rihanna still loves CB: "There's just so much history and love between them that will forever connect them for the rest of their lives."

With this scoop, alongside CB's unsuccessful relationship with Karrueche Tan, a lot of rumors now spread online saying that the two can possibly rekindle their love for each other anytime soon. According to Inquisitr, 'they appear to still have a strong connection and Rihanna reportedly even called out Karreuche Tran after she went after Chris on Instagram.'
