Following speculations that the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will be released on July 29 this year alongside the full version of Windows 10, there is now the possibility of it being pushed back to 2016.

According to Yibada, rumors imply that the successor to the Surface Pro 3 is most likely the last iteration of the Tablet-Laptop hybrid from Microsoft due to the adaptation of the 'One Microsoft' approach.

Master Herald reports that the new CEO of the tech giant, Satya Nadella, gently suggested this message through a letter addressed to Microsoft employees enumerating his plans for fiscal year 2016.

Nadella made it official that Microsoft is no longer projecting itself as a "devices and services company" as it shifts its focus on productivity and platforms.

"While the devices and services description was helpful in starting our transformation, we now need to hone in on our unique strategy," Nadella said according to ZDNet.

"At our core, Microsoft is the productivity and platform company for the mobile-first and cloud-first world. We will reinvent productivity to empower every person and every organization on the planet to do more and achieve more."

In mentioning that the company has to innovate areas and make some tough choices in those aspects where things are not working, rumors arise about possibly stopping two of the weakest production areas of Microsoft- the Surface line and the Windows Phone.

"I believe that culture is not static. It evolves every day based on the behaviors of everyone in the organization. We are in an incredible position to seize new growth this year," he added.

In light of these possibilities, expectations about the upcoming Surface Pro 4 are high. When it comes to its look and feel, reports say that it might have similar design features with its predecessor, only thinner and classier. Master Herald went on to say that it might sport a 12-inch touchscreen that could render a resolution of 2160 x 1440.

There are also rumors of a bigger variant, probably with a 14-inch touchscreen display. But what truly elates Microsoft supporters is the alleged Windows 10 OS onboard, coupled with an Intel Skylake processor.

The device is expected to be compatible to accessories, including a Docking Station and Type Cover 3. The entry level Surface Pro 4 estimated price is currently at $799, but is still unofficial.
