A 12.9-inch Apple iPad may be making its way to the market by November.

DigiTimes reported that components for the device will be supplied as early as September.

"However, Apple is rather cautious about placing related orders and the initial shipment volume is much lower than most market watchers' expectations, according to sources from the upstream supply chain," added the Taiwanese blog.

The upcoming giant iPad will reportedly be made by Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry).

Meanwhile, CBS News said that the device will be called the iPad Pro as per CNET senior associate editor Iyaz Akhtar.

The DigiTimes report also said that the demand for tablets has weakened for the past months and the sales of the iPad have certainly been affected giving way to bigger smartphones which can be used both as a phone and a tablet.

Business Insider reported that the sales of the iPad have indeed slumped, falling by 23 percent last April versus the same month last year. It, however, said that this decline in sales does not only apply to iPads but also to tablets in general.

"Shipments of tablets have declined by 6 percent year-over-year," the same report added.

This could serve as a reminder that even though the device could be available by the end of the year, Apple could still hold its release date.

A similar Mirror report added that most of the current iPad releases ranged from 7 inches to 9 inches.

It added that the upcoming "mega" iPad will have Force Touch input, which the company developed for the Apple Watch and for the new Macbooks.

"It allows you to press down harder on the screen to access extra features, like right-clicking on a traditional mouse button," Mirror added.

Business Insider added that the tablet will almost have the same size as the Apple's 13-inch MacBook so people could easily use it for better productivity. It will also reportedly have new features like those in recent iPads that aid in multitasking.

The device's release, according to CBS News, could also have something to do with the introduction of iOS 9.

"There's only one device right now that can take full advantage of iOS 9, and that's the iPad Air 2. It seems a little strange that Apple only has one tablet that can fully take advantage of this, so a larger one could probably be more for productivity," Akhtar explained in the CBS News report.
