For those eager to get a glimpse of DC's big flick next year, you can get a glimpse of two of your favorite heroes: New photos of Batman and Superman have been released, although this time, it's in a form of a magazine cover.

Empire Magazine proudly put Ben Affleck's Dark Knight and Henry Cavill's Man of Steel on the upcoming September issue, in their full costumed glory.

To show the rift between the two, Batman is shown against the backdrop of Gotham City, while Superman is see against the shiny skyline of Metropolis. Check out the photo here.

Director Zack Snyder called Batman "operatic" in his role, while Henry Cavill emphasized Superman being an alien.

Cavill said, "In this movie, everyone has split into different directions as to how they feel about this alien. Some people love him, some hate him. Other people fear him. Is he a tyrant?"

It seems that Superman id not doing so well in the big screen lately.

"Superman Returns" wasn't exactly a success, and even though it did fine for the "Man of Steel" reboot, the sequel got hijacked by Batman, according to Movie Pilot.

However, Cavill insists on dissuading fans on that assumption, saying that "I wouldn't call this a Superman sequel.

This is 'Batman v Superman', so it's a separate entity altogether. It's introducing the Batman character, and expanding upon this universe, which was kicked off by 'Man of Steel'. It's an introduction to the character, and ultimately, an introduction to Justice League."

Snyder, on the other hand, admitted that while the "Superman" sequel is in the works, things went out of hand when he discussed it at pre-production.

he also said that the idea of Batman making an appearance and fighting with the Man of Steel just sort of went awry, which is why the supposed sequel ended up being a showdown.

A showdown that comic book fans are now looking forward to.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, and Callan Mulvey.

DC has a big slate of movies in the upcoming years, releasing two a year for five years.

Movie Web listed them all, starting off with "Batman v Superman", which will be released on March 16, 2016, followed by "Suicide Squad" on August 5.

Then, there's "Wonder Woman" for June 23, 2017, "Justice League Part 1" on November 11, 2017, "The Flash" on March 23, 2018, "Aquaman" on July 27, 2018, "Shazam!" on April 5, 2019, "Justice League Part 2" on June 14, 2019, "Cyborg" on April 30, 2020, and finally "Green Lantern Corps" on June 19, 2020.
