Earlier today, Drake dropped a track onto Soundcloud entitled "Back to Back Freestyle" dissing Meek Mill in what appears to be his next shot in the two rappers' ongoing online feud. How did things get to this point? It all started on July 21, 2015 when Meek Mill tweeted two messages on Twitter, one of which called out Drake for not writing his own raps:

"And it's get it clear Nicki or nobody not responsible for my success...I been had the culture with me..Don't ever get that confused!!

-Meek Mill ‏@MeekMill  Jul 21

"Stop comparing drake to me too.... He don't write his own raps! That's why he ain't tweet my album because we found out!"

There may have been some underlying tension not made public until now because Drake and Nicki Minaj, who is currently romantically involved with Meek Mill, have been friends for some time and possible romantically linked at one point as well, reports Fusion.

It took Drake four days to respond, but on Saturday, August 25, 2015 he released "Charged Up", a track which only implicitly answered Meek Mill's diss without getting involved in things too much. Meek Mill's only response was to drop a 15-second audio clip on Twitter called "Beautiful Nightmare (Drake Diss)" which featured some screaming and not much else.

It looked for a while like the whole thing might blow over until Drake turned up the heat this morning by releasing "Back 2 Back Freestyle" which contained some lyrics (from Genius) calling out Meek Mill more overtly:

"This for y'all to think that I don't write enough

They just mad cause I got the midas touch

You love her, then you gotta give the world to her

Is that a world tour or your girl's tour?

I know that you gotta be a thug for her

This ain't what she meant when she told you to open up more

Yeah, trigger fingers turn to twitter fingers

Yeah, you gettin' bodied by a singin' nigga"

The new diss track has been generating a lot of comments on Twitter, where followers of the feud are commenting on Drake's victory over the seemingly nowhere-to-be-found Meek Mill:

"I'm finished!!! That's the most savage bar I've heard this week #BackToBack pic.twitter.com/yP9N8fH1uo"

- Mr Bam (@Mr_Bamm) July 29, 2015

While the end to this conflict remains to be seen, maybe the two rappers should learn a thing or two from what happened between Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift.
