A TaiG iOS 8.4 jailbreak tool for Mac is finally available.

Previously, TaiG's jailbreaking app for iOS 8.4 was only on hand in a Windows-only version, making Mac users to rely on other apps or use Boot Camp to modify their iOS devices, 9to5Mac reported.

You can download the free TaiG tool from the team's website. The app supports from iOS 8.1 and up. For tutorials on how to install the tool, check this out.

Cult of Mac pointed out that TaiG's jailbreak tool is untethered, which means that it's not necessary for users to re-jailbreak their devices every time it's rebooted, unlike other limited jailbreaks. TaiG is a Chinese jailbreaker team which Apple thanked in the company's patch notes for revealing the vulnerabilities in iOS.

The first beta of iOS 8.4 was unveiled back in April, with i0n1c initially jailbreaking that version of the operating system, Redmond Pie reported. However, 25PP was the first to release a PP jailbreaking tool for the iOS 8.4, with TaiG accusing the former of stealing their code and releasing it based on their exploits.

An hour after the PP jailbreak was released, TaiG rolled out an updated version of its tool, v2.2.0, to jailbreak iOS 8.4, Redmond Pie noted. A PP iOS 8.4 jailbreak was then released for Mac in July.

Both PP and TaiG jailbreaks for iOS 8.4 supports all iOS devices, which includes the iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, iPad 4/3/2, iPad mini 3/2/1, iPad Air 2/1, iPod touch 5, and the latest iPod touch 6, the news outlet listed.

Saurik's Cydia Impactor

For those users who want to remove their iOS 8.4 jailbreak without altering the current iOS software they're using, Saurik's Cydia Impactor is the answer.

Check out the Cydia Impactor here or on Cydia within the BigBoss repo, iDigitalTimes reported. The tool made by Saurik, a.k.a Jay Freeman, is said to work properly according to tests conducted by iDownload Blog. The Cydia Impactor also works for iOS 8.3, but earlier versions of the mobile software are not covered.

Jailbreaking your iOS device will not allow a system restore. Apple patches jailbreak exploits immediately and is constantly improving iOS' built-in capabilities. So "if you have a jailbroken iPhone that's getting a little sluggish, there's no way to clear it out with a quick restore without updating to a new, unjailbreakable version of iOS," Cult of Mac explained.

According to iDigitalTimes, Saurik's jailbreak can be installed right on the jailbroken iOS device. To be safe, users should backup their files using iTunes or iCloud before using the Cydia Impactor app.
