Colombian singer Juanes are among the musical artists headlining a United Nations Event for the World Humanitarian Day scheduled on Wednesday, Aug. 19.

Juanes, along with Australian crooner Cody Simpson and Malian-French singer Inna Modja, are performing at the #ShareHumanity event, Fox News Latino reported from The Associated Press. Juanes even wrote a still untitled song specifically for the special occasion.

"Este mundo necesita amor," he sang, which translates to, "This world just needs more love," Fox News Latino noted.

Listen to the track below.

On Tuesday, Aug. 18, Juanes, Simpson, and Modja "lent their voices" for UN's effort to highlight the humanitarian issues plaguing countries such as Yemen and Syria, Fox News Latino added.

As a response to the conflicts, the UN needs $20 billion this year to protect the lives of 100 million people, the news outlet noted. The amount is twice what the organization aimed for in 2009, yet they only received less than 30 percent of the funds.

Simpson let a Syrian refugee named Thair Orfahli to use his Twitter account for a day in light of UN's movement.

According to The Independent, Orfahli used Simpson's Twitter page to launch a digital storytelling initiative that draws attention to the suffering humans experience across the world. The "Pretty Brown Eyes" singer's Twitter account also served as a platform for Orfahli to describe his difficult journey from Syria to Austria to escape civil war and the Islamist terror group ISIS.

"I'm getting behind #ShareHumanity because it's a way of showing that we haven't forgotten that there are millions living in humanitarian crises," said Simpson, 18, as quoted by the UN News Centre. "I hope others will join us in this massive display of public support calling for a more humane world."

Juanes, on the other hand, tweeted that "it is an immense honor" to be a part of UN's special event.

"We're calling on the young and digitally-connected to help us push out these compelling stories and give a voice to the voiceless," said UN Humanitarian Chief Stephen O'Brien in a press release. "Young people often ask me what they can do to help and I believe we have a shared responsibility to raise awareness and help to inspire humanity on these global issues."
