PS4 users will be glad to know that the new System Software 3.00 update is now open for beta testers. The new update has additional features such as a YouTube streaming option and other social media capabilities.

Another big feature is a big increase to the online storage capacity for Sony's loyal users. PS4 users will now be able to use 10 GB in the cloud storage service instead of the current 1 GB, according to The Verge.  The cloud storage is not for multimedia files, but for the saved files each PS4 game uses. For one game, 1GB is more than plenty. However, things start to pile up when the PS4 user has more than 20 titles in disposal.

The Verge also reported that Sony's big PS4 3.00 software update will also include a meter that will allow the user to see whether the online storage is nearly full. By monitoring this online storage meter, the PS4 user will be able to plan ahead delete some files if needed be.

There will also be a new events hub that will make it easier for users to keep track of in-game events instead of just relying on a separate web browser on a mobile device or a computer. This makes the user aware of promos, events and more without the need to leave the gamer's spot.

The Verge reported that PS4 users will also be able to create communities regarding games or other interests. This communities all come with a message board for all members to post screenshots and announcements. It's particularly useful for gaming groups that play together on  games such as Call of Duty or Destiny. Sony is really reducing the need for the user to reach out to other players using other means of communication and is packing all of it inside the PS4.

The new update will also allow the users to stream their gameplays not only over Twitch, but also via YouTube as well for a larger audience. Sony's official blog post stated that it will be streamed through the new YouTube Gaming channel which can also be accessed through its mobile app. For those who just want to share bits of funny gameplays, the PS4's share button on the controller may be used to share them directly on Twitter.

Sadly, there is no concrete date yet as to  the official release for the said 3.00 PS4 update, according to IGN, but Sony promises to bring more information updates soon. The update is available for the PlayStation Beta program.
