Fans of Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy were devastated when the long-time couple announced their mutual decision to part ways on Twitter after four decades of being together. Now it looks like the bachelor amphibian has set his eyes on a new lady love.

According to People Magazine, Kermit has seemed to set his eyes on a much younger and noticeably thinner love interest named Denise. Reports say that Kermit is still working with his ex, Miss Piggy on her late-night talk show, Up Late with Miss Piggy. This will be seen in the upcoming ABC series, The Muppets.

According to a source with People Magazine, Kermit and the sexy head of Marketing have been constantly seen together. The pair seemed pretty close, eyewitnesses say.

"She's always stopping by the set of Up Late," a source tells People Magazine.

Miss Piggy and Kermit have parted ways just over a month ago, and it seems like both have moved on. The sassy blond seems unfazed about her ex-finding a new love interest as she has her eyes set on Liam Hemsworth, whom she posed with his first Instagram post.

Kermit, however, took to Twitter to clear the rumors of a possible romance blossoming him and the much younger Denise.

"While I prefer to keep my personal life private, this is Hollywood, so who am I kidding?" Kermit tweeted. "It is true that I am dating again. However, at this time no one woman - pig or otherwise - is my official 'new girlfriend.' We are simply close friends."

ABC had earlier made the announcement that they will be rebooting the beloved Jim Henson classic in a docuseries format documenting the lives of The Muppets characters. People Magazine also confirmed that Denise will be appearing later in the show so a chance encounter with Miss Piggy is inevitable.

Naturally, fans of Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog had mixed reactions over Kermit's possible new love interest. A report from The Guardian notes that Miss Piggy has become somewhat of a feminist icon for fans both young and old, covering songs like "B---- Better Have My Money." On the other hand, Kermit seems to just fade into the background while whining and complaining that "it is hard being green." Fans of Miss Piggy believe that Miss Piggy will be fine without Kermit.

The rebooted The Muppets series will premiere on ABC this September 22 at 8 pm ET.
