RnB princess Rihanna was the target of animal rights activists during the launch of her perfume at Macy's in Brooklyn, New York on Monday. Anti-fur protesters invaded the event and were heard chanting "Shame on Rihanna."

Not everyone is a fan of Rihanna, especially the activists who surged through Macy's Monday afternoon to boycott the unveiling of her new "RiRi by Rihanna" fragrance. Amidst the cheers from fans in the crowd, the protesters could be seen in the YouTube video shared by Donny Moss trying to pass through security personnel.

In the footage, a couple of girls carrying posters with anti-fur messages could be seen walking around the halls of Macy's chanting "Shame on Rihanna." They were captured on video carrying signs that said, "Who died for your coat," and "Skinned alive" and another poster with the word "Fur" marked with a stop symbol.

According to TheirTurn, the protesters were also yelling, "Fifty dead animals: one fur coat." The site also shared a photo of one of the anti-fur activists, Rob Banks, being apprehended by the police as he approached Rihanna on stage. TheirTurn also revealed the identities of the other animal activists, namely Jaime, Michelle, Angela and MaCa.

This is not the first time that Rihanna became the target of animal rights activists. She has been photographed on several occasions wearing fur coats, as seen in this photo shared by TheirTurn. Mirror UK said a PETA spokesperson once called out the singer in 2012 for wearing snake-skin boots.

"Rihanna may not have a clue that snakes killed for boots are often nailed to a tree and skinned alive. Of course, they can't go on Oprah to cry about it. Wearing reptile skin is creepy and callous, and it makes her look even more out of touch," the spokesperson said as quoted by Mirror UK.

TMZ president Harvey Levin also showed he is pro anti-fur in December 2013 when a photo of Rihanna wearing a long brown fur coat was presented to him by one of his reporters. Levin's look of disapproval and disgust is evident on his face as seen in the video shared by TMZ.

In the video, Levin could also be heard saying, "It is pure torture skinning them alive to wear a coat on your back, when you can have a different kind of coat." He also told his TMZ staff, "I don't want these animals tortured and skinned alive. It's barbaric."
