One Reddit user participated in the site's annual Secret Santa gift exchange event, and got an extra special Secret Santa: Bill Gates. 

Rachel (known by her Reddit name NY1227) posted "Spoiler alert: Bill Gates did not get you, because he got me," which chronicled her discovery of the identity of her Secret Santa, which she says was not immediately obvious. 

She received the seven-pound gift on Monday, but did not open it until Thursday night, according to Gawker. 

Inside the box was a copy of National Geographic's "Journeys of a Lifetime: 500 of the World's Greatest Trips," because Rachel noted her love of travel when signing up for the gift exchange. Inside was also a stuffed animal cow, a card and a photo. 

The card, which was signed "from Bill," told Rachel that a donation had been made in her name to Heifer International, a nonprofit that provides families in need with cows (which is why he added in the stuffed animal). According to Heifer.org, a full cow donation costs $500.

Rachel still did not know the identity of her secret santa until she saw the photo. 

"Wait. Holy sh**. Time out. And then it finally hit me," she wrote in the post. "All the presents I just tore open, the charity, then everything- was from Bill GATES."

Rachel thanked Gates profusely for the thoughtful gifts, and said they were "perfectly and EXACTLY tuned into my interests."

However, she did apologize for one thing. She wrote: "Sorry for the apple ipad on my wishlist, that was really awkward."

When speaking with GeekWire, a spokesman for Gates said Gates hoped he could promote the cause of Heifer International by participating in the Secret Santa program.
