The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 is said to be edged by the Meizu PRO 5 in a Geekbench shootout. The Meizu Niux turns out to be superior to the Samsung Project Lucky.

According to the GSM Arena, the Meizu PRO 5 will be launch on Sept 25 while the Galaxy S7, on the other hand, is likely to be release in six months time.

However, the site also noted that the Meizu PRO 5 will come with two versions but with different chipsets the one seen on the GeekBench is the Exynos 7420 variant. It scores close to the 5600 mark in the multi-core test. It is quite far from what the Samsung's Galaxy S6/S6 Edge has with 5200 ballpark and the Note 5/S6 Edge Plus which is a little left behind.

The Tech Grapple reported that the Meizu Pro 5 Geekbench 3 benchmark revealed some of its technical specs and scores. It has 1,550 single-core performance and 5,593 in multi-core. Compared to the Samsung Luck-LTE Model, Galaxy S7, it scores better even if it was tested with Exynos 8890 SoC.

In fact, the Meizu has already scheduled their event on Sept 23 in Beijing, where they are set to unveil the Meizu Pro 5 -- their new flagship phone. As wrote by Android Headlines, it has a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display as stated by the Meizu's co-founder and AnTuTu benchmark listings.

Moreover, the Technology 2015 cited that the new Meizu Pro 5 just didn't outperform the Samsung's upcoming Exynos 8890, by its improvement, but "also posts larger numbers than the existing Korean flagships with silicon identical to theirs."

The GSM Arena took note that it still has many flaws and giving the right and meaningful conclusions are not yet timely. It might look like very well in pre-production unit by being spotted "in a different configuration" and the rest of the 7,420 crew are final with their "commercially available devices." However, the "reviewers" still has to wait on its official release to judge whether it will be the next best in performance handheld device.

According to Android Headlines, the Meizu Pro 5 will have the same SoC 14nm Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor like Samsung's Note 5. Its two versions of smart phones will have 3 and 4 GB RAM.

It both has 32 GB of internal storage, a 21-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front cam. It will also be incorporated with Android 5.1 Lollipop.

The Android Headlines also added that the company's Chief Architect of Flyme [Meizu's Android-based UI] confirmed that the Flyme 5 will be on the Meizu Pro 5, meaning the device will have an updated version of OS on their upcoming event.
