The fantasy drama series is making its way back to ABC for a fifth season. "Once Upon a Time" Season 5 marks the return of a few fan favorites, plus the debut of new characters.

E!Online reported that Jamie Chung, who plays Mulan will be returning to the series after being notably absent during the fourth season of the show. The Chinese warrior made her last appearance towards the end of the third season when she agreed to join Robin Hood's band of Merry Men after finding out that Princess Aurora (Sarah Bolger) was pregnant with Prince Philip's (Julian Morris) child.

At the time, Chung was busy with the short-lived NBC series, "Believe". Now Chung is ready to go back to focus on her role of Mulan in the fantasy drama.

"Are you kidding me? I think it would be really disappointing to leave the audience with this giant question mark. I would go back in a heartbeat." she said in a prior interview with E!Online.

According to the website, further details on Mulan's return are currently under wraps, given that many "Once Upon a Time" fans were clamoring for her return. However, show creator Adam Horowitz did tease that one of the episodes in the upcoming fourth season is entitled, "Nimue" (which means "Lady of the Lake, which is where the episode Mulan appeared during the second season).

Fellow executive producer Edward Kitsis further teased of a "possible reunion" between Aurora and Mulan. There were also hints of a possible romance for Mulan, but it is unclear as of now if that romance will be linked to Princess Aurora.

There are also hints that Captain Hook and Emma Swan might be in danger as teased by Entertainment Weekly. Now that Emma has fully embraced her dark powers, it is up to Hook to make her realize her role as the Savior. However, Emma might have already embraced the Darkness, and it will take a challenge on Hook's part to snap her out of it. Kitsis also said that Hook won't be enticed by the Darkness because he does not change so easily.

Other characters who will be making their debut are Princess Merida from Brave. The Scottish fiery redhead will be played by Amy Manson. Merida is said to come across Emma Swan's path as she transforms into The Dark Swan.
