Marvel Studios is all set to the reboot of "Spider-Man" in 2017 as more revelations about the wall crawler's background on the Marvel Cinematic Universe surface.

According to a report from Screen Rant, "Spider-Man" reboot director Jon Watts himself revealed a very important and much talked about detail about Marvel's version of Peter Parker: his age.

"We're really going to see Peter Parker in high school and get deeper into that side of it. He's just 15 now," he told Empire Magazine, confirming past rumors that the new Spider-Man would be younger than the first two.

This second reboot of the friendly neighborhood superhero's incredible story would feature young actor Tom Holland as the lead character.

Past versions, Screen Rant noted, have always been true to the comic book template for when Spider-Man gains his spider-like abilities though both Toby MaGuire and Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker have been set to be on the verge of high school graduation.

This time, Holland's Spider-Man would be just starting off the academic level with a younger and less dead Uncle Ben who had been killed in the first two versions of "Spider-Man."

"There are only so many times you can kill Uncle Ben. I love the idea of making a coming-of-age high school movie," he explained.

Screen Rant also explained that since Marvel and Sony would be writing Peter Parker into a very young persona, the spectators should expect an angst-filled immature teenager.

Holland's "Spider-Man" would make his debut in the third "Captain America" film, something that many are excited about considering how Marvel boss Kevin Feige described him as the 'perfect' actor for the job.

"Tom was pretty perfect. He's very athletic. He can actually do a backflip! If he didn't already capture the spirit of the character, with that on top the kid is Spider-Man," he exclaimed.

Feige's opinion was echoed by several Sony and Marvel executives as cited in a past report from Screen Rant.

"Sony, Marvel, Kevin and I all knew that for Peter Parker, we had to find a vibrant, talented young actor capable of embodying one of the most well-known characters in the world. With Tom, we've found the perfect actor to bring Spider-Man's story into the Marvel Cinematic Universe," former Sony boss Amy Pascal stated.

"I've worked with a number of up-and-coming directors who have gone on to be superstars and believe that Jon is just such an outstanding talent. For Spidey himself, we saw many terrific young actors, but Tom's screen tests were special. All in all, we are off to a roaring start," said Sony Pictures executive Tom Rothman.
