One of the most viral smartphone games is coming to theaters in May 2016 and it's not Kim Kardashian (and no, it's not Kylie Jenner, either).

The first trailer for the awaited "The Angry Birds" movie is finally here, and it actually looks fun. And it's not a low-budget film either, as it boasts of legitimately shining talents that included Jason Sudeikis, Peter Dinklage, Maya Rudolph, Keegan-Michael Key, Josh Gad, Hannibal Buress and Kate McKinnon, as reported by Bustle.

Cinema Blend noted that the trailer is set to Michael Jackson's "Bad" and The Carpenters' "Close To You" and it has a legitimately humorous plot.

"Angry Birds" takes place on an island that is home to flightless birds. Jason Sudeikis's Red has anger management issues that seem to have made him an outsider in their paradise. He does have his own set of friends, though, but it may not have helped that they're weirdos.

Then, of course, the pigs appear, which, as those who downloaded the app know, are the birds' mortal enemies. Only Red and his band of misfit friends can find out what they're doing on the island and they are probably the only ones who can save the day.

More news and updates should leak out when the release date nears.

First released for Apple in 2009, "Angry Birds" was developed by Rovio Entertainment and named the most popular game of its sort of all time. The "Angry Birds" game has been downloaded an astounding 3 billion times and has been sold on all sorts of merchandise.

Reviews about the trailer haven't been stellar so far.

The Guardian described it as "just going to be about some angry birds. The Angry Birds movie is literally just going to be about some birds who get angry sometimes."

Forbes also had its doubts, but admittedly said that Sony's animated output has been solid over the past half decade, with "Hotel Transylvania" and both "Cloudy with a Chance Of Meatballs" garnering good reviews.

"Angry Birds" looks like it's going to be a fun watch, though. With a good, solid cast behind it, for now, movie-goers should give it the benefit of the doubt. The film is set to be released in May 2016.

Do you plan on watching a show about angry 3D birds and their pig enemies, or do you think this one should stick to being a smartphone game?
