Natalie Dormer is a young woman out to save her twin sister in the creepy new film 'The Forest'. The horrifying new trailer shows the 'Game of Thrones' actress lost in Japan's famed suicide forest.

In a report with The Wrap, Dormer plays an American woman named Sara. She senses that there is something wrong regarding her twin sister's mysterious disappearance. She receives a cryptic call, saying that her sister got lost in Japan's Aokigahara Forest, where "people go to die." Stubbornly, Sara goes out to find what happened to her sister in a mad quest to save her. Along the way, she gets lost in the woods and starts to lose her sanity.

As Sara ventures deeper into the woods, she begins to grow paranoid and begins to see things, horrifying supernatural images in the corners of her mind. She is constantly warned by the locals to "stay on the path" lest she get killed herself.

According to Slash Film, the Aokigahara Forest, or more popularly known as "the Suicide Forest" is considered by many fans of the supernatural to be one of the most haunted places in the world. People who have ventured into the forest have felt an overwhelming sense of dread and despair as if the spirits of all who died there want them to take their lives as well. The place itself is surrounded in mystery, just under the foot of Mt. Fuji. Locals have told of the evil presence lurking in the forest. Strangely enough, the place is even eerily quiet and the brave souls who have ventured there have claimed to see some eerie looking things lying about, like children and adult's shoes.

Dormer is known for her roles in "Game of Thrones" and "The Tudors". Certainly no stranger to bringing tension to a film, Dormer will certainly deliver the amount of eeriness that a good horror film needs that does not give it that generic feel.

The horror film is written by Sarah Cornwell and Nick Antosca. It was produced by Lava Bear Films and Goyer, under the Phantom Four banner. Len Blavatnik, Aviv Giladi and Lawrence Bender are the executive producers for AI Film. Tory Metzger, President of Lava Bear, oversaw the production.

The Forest is scheduled to hit theaters worldwide on January 8, 2016 and stars Taylor Kinney, Eoin Macken and Yukiyoshi Ozawa.
