Grammy Awards 2016 Predictions: Will Taylor Swift Lead The Nominations Again?

The eligibility period of the 2016 Grammy Awards had already, which will take place in February next year, ended on Wednesday, Sept. 30. And now, many speculations are swirling on who among the top musicians of today will be nominated on different categories, while the official announcement of nominees will be held in December.

This year's nominees are hard to predict according to Billboard, as many artists swirled the music scene and topped the charts. However, the site gave their best bets and the contenders that they think suit the category.

For Album of the Year, of course it's near to impossible not to include Taylor Swift's "1989," which earned a number of awards from the past music gatherings. Kenrick Lamar's "To Pimp a Buttefly" is also up, when it received universal acclaim on its release in March. 

D' Angelo & The Vanguard's "Black Messiah" made waves with its high-rated reviews, record sales and concert tours. "Title" of Meghan Trainor created two tracks, which made it in the Top 20 hits.

Moreover, Florence + The Machine's "How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful" debuted on the number one spot of the Billboard's chart earlier this year. Other contenders, who possibly can join the category, are Nicki Minaj with her "The Pinkprint, Sam Hunt's "Montevallo," James Taylor's "Before This World" and "Shakes, Sound & Color" by Alabama.

Moreover, Tampa Bay Times noted the Record of the Year with the worldwide hit "Uptown Funk" of Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars. Also, the 25-year-old record breaker's "Blank Space" and the lover's favorite track "Thinking Out Loud" of Ed Sheeran will surely be in the said category.

The Weeknd's "Can't Feel my Face" can possibly make it along with "Girl Crush" by Little Big Town and "FourFive Seconds" by the joined forces of Kanye West, Rihanna and Paul McCartney. Too, "Fight Song" of Rachel Platten, "Where Are U Now" of Skrillex, Diplo and Justin Bieber and the song, which made the "Fast and the Furious" fans cried, Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth's "See You Again.

For the Best New Artist, Billboard reported that Meghan Trainor can make up in 2016 with the release of her "Title" in January. Sam Hunt, Fetty Wap and Shawn Mendes, who's just 17 years old but already got number one debut album and a stadium tour with the girlfriend of Calvin Harris.

Other possible contenders are Alessia Cara, James Bay, Tori Kelly, Walk the Moon and the all-girl group, Fifth Harmony.
