Android Wear users can now make Skype calls using their wearable device.

TechTimes reported that Android Wear app users can reply to messages using their watch and even include emojis in their replies.

"Today we're excited to announce Skype 6.4 for Android, which brings you new ways to manage conversations on Android Wear devices such as the Moto 360, Huawei Watch, LG Watch Urbane, or the ASUS ZenWatch," announced Skype in a blog post.

It added that users will be able to reply directly to messages using the watch through "voice-to-text by speaking to your wrist."

As for calls, the Skype blog post also discussed that Android Watch owners can also easily manage their calls using the device.

"Decline incoming calls from your wrist if you're busy and can't take a call at the moment. Or, accept incoming calls on your Android Wear device -- and use Skype on your Android phone using the microphone, headphones, or a wireless Bluetooth speaker or headset," it added.

Aside from this feature, the watch can also serve as a "pick up or hang up" button for calls with TechTimes noting that individuals can take calls from the wrist, but the calls will still be through their phones.

"During a call, you can tap into your Android Wear watch to mute, pause, hang up or switch to a different incoming call," added CNet.

This is another great news from Google after it announced more than a month ago that their new watches will be iPhone compatible.

ABC News said that a free application can be downloaded by Android Wear owners to their iPhone 5, 5C, 5S, 6 and 6 Plus which have iOS 8.2 or larger

In an earlier blog post, Google said that the pairing of the two devices will enable users to check phone calls, messages and notifications from various applications.

"Android Wear features always-on displays, so you'll never have to move your wrist to wake up your watch," added the Google blog.

The same report said that with the watch, people can also set their fitness goals and even track their activities like running and walking.

"Receive timely tips like when to leave for appointments, current traffic info, and flight status," read another use of the smart watch as per Google.

The Verge added that only three watches officially support the iPhone including the Huawei Watch, the Asus ZenWatch 2 and the LG Watch Urbane.

Lead product manager for Wear Jeff Chang told The Verge that Google does not support older watches since the company wants to make this device work "right away" even without updates.

"In order to guarantee a good experience, where out of the box it will work immediately and you don't have to do any fancy footwork, that's why it has to be the newer watches," Chang explained.
