Last season's "The Flash" finale left fans with a lot of spoilers, but if you're quick on the uptake, you'd notice a little clue left behind: a hint of a Flash from another world came out of the time vortex, and comic book fans know him as Jay Garrick. E! News reported that in the series, he will be portrayed by Teddy Sears.

What's all the fuss about the other Flash? Well, for instance, he's actually the original hero, but Barry Allen (portrayed by Grant Gustin) was the more popular one, hence he was the one developed for the CW series.

Here are some things you should know about Jay Garrick before the second season is out:

1) The DC Universe's original Flash, Jay Garrick was first introduced in 1940 until his character retired and was replaced by Barry Allen. Years later, he was reintroduced in an existing parallel universe form Barry, which is presumably what will happen in the series.

2) Though he can travel at superhuman speed, he is reportedly slower than Barry. However, his costume, which includes a metal helmet with wings, is inspired by the Roman god, Mercury. On the show, however, he is said to be a bit older than Barry, and will act as mentor to the younger speedster.

3) The second season will see the introduction of Earth 2, which is the parallel universe where Garrick is from. It's similar to earth, but at the same time very different. It will be a little bit confusing as to how these parallel universes interact, but this is the way fans can see the return of Tom Cavanaugh's Harrison Wells and/or Rick Cosnett's Eddie Thawne.

4) Even though they have essentially the same powers, USA Today noted that Barry Allen will have a difficult time trusting Garrick. After all, Wells, a person that Barry looked up to all throughout the previous season, turned out to be a villain. However, Sears said that pretty soon, his Flash will teach Allen "tricks of the trade he didn't know were possible."

5) Teddy Sears will appear as Jay Garrick on the first episode of the season, so get ready for a lot of confusing alternate-universe action. Don't worry, though, producer Andrew Kreisberg already assured fans that the show will illustrate the phenomenon. He shared, "We do what they do: We have a very erudite professor take out a magic marker and go to a chalkboard and show people what it means."

And bonus: another Flash will appear later in the season.

"The Flash" season 2 will premiere Tuesday, October 6.
