It's the time of the season when rumored images of the next Apple iPhone appear online, and a report from China has posted a few images of an alleged iPhone 6.

According to China's CTech, two images surfaced of what is claimed to be the rear shell of the sixth-generation iPhone.

An image of a screen also appeared online. The screen that may be part of the rear shell appears to be larger than the current 4-inch display seen on iPhones since the iPhone 5's debut in 2012.

"However the body seems wrong somehow. It looks wider and shorter than the iPhone 5s," noted GSMArena, adding that if the images are proven legitimate, then the iPhone 6 could see a reduction to the bezels around the screen.

As BGR reported, the iPhone will reportedly sport an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, the same megapixel count the iPhone has maintained since the iPhone 5.

The China Post debunked rumors that the iPhone 6 would rival the Samsung Galaxy S4 with a 13-megapixel camera.

"According to Nomura Securities, Largan's recently lagging performance in the market is caused by rumors that Apple may adopt an 8 mega-pixel (MP) camera with improved optical image stabilization on its upcoming handset, instead of the 16 MP upgrade anticipated by industry observers," wrote The China Post's Ted Chen. "Apple's decision is based on the design requirement to retain the handset's more portable form factor, said Nomura Securities."

As with most speculation and rumor reports, Apple has not issued a comment.

What do you think about latest iPhone 6 rumors? Should it rival the latest Samsung Galaxy devices?
