Around 800 people came out in Houston, Texas on Sunday to get a peek at what Rick Dyer claims is a real Bigfoot.

Dyer, a self-described professional Bigfoot hunter, claims to have shot and killed the mythical creature in the San Antonio woods back in 2012. Now, he's touring the country with the 800-pound beast to allow both believers and skeptics to view it for $10 a pop.

"We got here a day early and we just wanted to show as many people as possible," said Dyer, referring to his first stop in Houston at Trader's Village in northwest Harris County, The Houston Chronicle reported.

Spectators of all ages paid to get a view of the 9-foot glass case that holds the specimen that Dyer named Hank after an investor. Although some were sold, others weren't persuaded that Hank was the real deal.

"I'm not convinced," said Mario Lopez, after taking a look with his wife and their three children. "I believe the Roger Patterson footage is authentic because you can see the muscles and everything on there, but this one was kind of different. But he did mention that after the autopsy the body kind of changes."

On the contrary, after getting a glimpse, Wendy Hernandez bought a shirt and had Dyer sign it. "It's amazing when you go inside, you feel different. I had never seen anything like this before, only on the Discovery Channel," she said.

Stephanie Campbell was also swayed after seeing the creature with her own eyes. At first, she told KHOU 11 News, "It is different. I don't know what to believe." Then after a taking a look behind closed doors she said, "OK, I believe."

While Dyer maintains that his sasquatch is authentic, he was caught using a $400 modified gorilla suit in a hoax in 2008.

"The men in black came to take the Bigfoot. They took it, left me with nothing but I already opened my mouth and I had to do something so that is why I created a fake," he explained.

The Nevada man managed to sell out of tickets for his show on Monday at the Mason Park Alamo Drafthouse and Tuesday at the Vintage Park location.
