An arrest made during a drug bust in Hackensack, N.J. Monday may help police solve a number of cold cases.

Police arrested Charles Williams, 62, a man investigators say may be connected to unsolved child murders. Evidence was found connecting Williams to the murders.

According to WABC, Williams was one of 115 alleged drug dealers who were arrested on Monday in Hackensack. Williams is accused of selling heroin and oxycodone to an undercover officer.

Williams served 16 years and is on lifetime parole for luring two young boys, then sodomizing and killing them in Virginia in 1969.

Police now believe they could have information on cold case murders based on their interactions with Williams.

Williams is charged with three counts of distribution of narcotics and three counts of distribution near a public park. An undercover cop was introduced to Williams to purchase narcotics. But after interacting with Williams and Williams' associates, the officer learned that he had stabbed someone on Feb. 6.

Williams was subsequently charged with aggravated assault for stabbing a 24-year-old man in the chest with a kitchen knife.

The drug bust is considered one of the largest narcotics raids in Hackensack's history, with hundreds of drug purchases made by undercover police officers. The cops bought crack cocaine, powder cocaine, heroin, marijuana, MDMA (Molly), roxicodone and oxycodone.

Officers also purchased what is known as "Pink Crack" or "Strawberry Crack," which reportedly gives a more intense high and may be cooked with cocaine and methamphetamine. Police also purchased marijuana dipped in embalming fluid, which is known as "Wet."

In addition to narcotics, officers also purchased handguns.

James Rogers, who was convicted in 2004 of aggravated assault for raping a developmentally disabled male, was also arrested.

Richard Shoop, the Garden State Plaza Mall shooter, was going to be arrested. Shoop was taken into custody for selling MDMA near Anderson Street Park last April. Police received information that Shoop was involved with people who were importing raw materials from China to concoct their own MDMA.

On Oct. 24, 2013, Shoop sold the drug to an undercover police officer. Ten days later, he committed suicide at the Garden State Plaza Mall. A note he left suggests that he knew he was under investigation. Toxicology reports showed that he had MDMA in his system at the time of his death.
