If you thought that the first week of March would bring relief from Old Man Winter and spring-like weather, then you better think again—meteorologists predict that more than 100 million will be affected by Winter Storm Titan.

Beginning Friday with rain in California, Titan is expected to move eastwards, bringing more snow and travel disruptions to cities like Chicago, New York, Boston and Philadelphia over the weekend. Some areas will be even be hit with heavy wet snow fall for up to 36 hours.

The heaviest snow fall is expected to hit the East Coast on Sunday, moving into Monday morning. Although it is too early to know how deep the snow will be, up to a foot of snow could be left in some regions.

There is also concern that the ice storm will bring a threat of damaging ice accumulation to Ohio and the Mississippi Valley on Sunday and Sunday night, according to The Weather Channel.

Then on Monday, the snow and sleet will taper off in the Ohio Valley and Appalachians, but continue through at least midday along the Northeast corridor, before ending in the afternoon and evening.

"In a narrow swath, all or part of the storm will deliver snow that may be difficult to shovel and plow, due to its accumulation and weight," said AccuWeather meteorologist Elliot Abrams, reports AOL.

"While many areas will be impacted by the storm in the Midwest and East, we are not sure which areas will get hit the hardest with snow and ice just yet."

In addition to the swath of heavy snow from California to New England, there will also be a swath of sleet and freezing rain from the Plains to the Mid-Atlantic states.

According to The Weather Channel, Sunday is when the most significant part of Titan will begin with snow, sleet and freezing rain that will get heavier.
