Shops too packed to move, labyrinth-like parking lots, maneuvering your way through stampeding crowds—malls can be a nightmare. Unfortunately for Tonya Knight-Joseph, a mall parking lot in Cherry Hill, N.J., turned into a very real nightmare on Saturday when a woman almost bit her finger off during a disupute over a parking spot. 

On Saturday, 42-year-old Knight-Jospeh was confronted over a parking space outside of a Nordstrom's department store by two black females around 4:45 p.m., according to the police, NBC reported.

"As soon as I got out of the car she started me all types of B-words," said Knight-Joseph to ABC.

Knight-Joseph was circling the parking lot near Nordstrom's looking for a spot while her friend waited for her at Bahama Breeze. She saw a car pull into a spot, pull out and then leave. Then two women approached her saying that she had stolen their spot.

"She got this close to my face, her nose touched my nose," she said. "She was yelling and screaming then she hit me in the face."

Knight-Joseph was scratched in the face and she put her hands up to protect her face. That's when the woman bit her hand above the middle knuckle, almost severing a finger.

"All of a sudden, I must have been pushing the initial attacker away and she bit down on my finger and proceeded to chomp," she said. "By the time I looked at it, it was hanging off by a little piece of skin. I immediately picked up my cell, called 911 and followed her into Nordstrom's."

Knight-Joseph was taken to Cooper University Hospital, where she is in stable condition. The woman is described as a heavy-set black woman in her mid-thirties, who was driving a dark Audi.

Knight-Joseph was treated with a tetanus shot and tested for HIV. She has yet to find out if her finger will be amputated.

The police say that this attack is more than an assault. The woman fractured Knight-Joseph's bone.

"I think it's outrageous and ridiculous," she said. " I don't understand how someone who is so angry should be out in public period."
