Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love is continuously being linked to the Los Angeles Lakers, but reports indicate that the All-Star forward is also interested in signing with other big-market teams like the Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks.

ESPN Los Angeles reported on Saturday that while Love is interested in playing with the Lakers because of his Los Angeles ties, it is still unknown at this point whether or not the Lakers top his list of preferred destinations.

"[Love] is enamored with the idea of being 'big time in a big city,' and that list of potential places he'd seek includes New York and Chicago, as well," ESPN Los Angeles reported.

In an interview with GQ in February, Love sounded uninterested in the idea of moving to the Lakers, who are struggling big time this season as they are on pace to finish the season with the worst record in franchise history.

Love, who could become a free agent in the summer of 2015, told GQ that his situation with the Timberwolves is far better than the Lakers' current state.

Reports on Friday indicated that the Lakers were planning to make a strong push to acquire Love this summer, with sources saying that L.A. could offer their high lottery pick this year in a trade package for Love.

Minnesota might have no other choice but to deal Love this summer or before next season's trade deadline instead of running the risk of losing him for nothing. However, sources said that the Lakers are facing strong competition from the Chicago Bulls and the New York Knicks.

"Marc Stein reported Friday the Lakers would be willing to trade their upcoming pick in the heralded NBA draft -- likely to be in the top half of the lottery -- to land Love. While Minnesota could certainly decide to go that route and hit the restart button, there is no assurance that the Lakers are truly Love's most desired destination," ESPN LA noted.

Chicago could also push to trade for Love this summer if they decide to part ways with Carlos Boozer via the one-time amnesty provision, while the Knicks will have to wait until 2015 to have cap room to acquire the former UCLA standout, assuming Carmelo Anthony stays in the Big Apple.
