Daughter of Hollywood A-listers Bruce Willis and Demi Moore made a controversial online post over on Instagram as a means of showing support for empowering women.

The 22-year-old Scout Willis triggered a debate on social media world as her recent topless photo post goes against several Internet standard. The photo shows Scout walking topless in a public street in New York City.

However, the controversial photo picked up support from other known celebrities like R&B singer Rihanna, according to Reuters.

The young daughter of former power couple Bruce Willis and Demi Moore stated that she was moved to meet the policy of Instagram against posting nude photos head-on. It can be recalled how Rihanna's topless photos were also taken down a month ago.

Scout's Twitter photos also emerged with captions saying "Legal in NYC but not on @instagram," states TV Guide.

Scout mentioned on Twitter that her move was about "helping women feel empowered to make personal choices about their bodies not dictated by what society says is decent."

She uploaded the photo along with a hashtag for a certain campaign, including #FreeTheNipple on her post. Reports say that her Instagram account was suspended after the posting of her nude photos which she considers as "tasteful" and made for art's sake.

On the other hand, Instagram answered back with a statement that stands strong by their strict policies. "Our guidelines put limitation on nudity and mature content," the popular social media site said.

There were actually two topless photos that Scout Willis shared on Twitter, reports Gawker. The first image shows Bruce Willis' daughter walking away from a fabric shop topless. The second one shows her eyeing flowers while still without a top on.

"Bangerz" singer Miley Cyrus and renowned model Cara Delevingne are among the other known female icons in support of the "Free The Nipple" movement.
