The basketball world never sleeps for long.

The end of the NBA Finals marks the beginning of a new season, in which the slate is wiped clean and all teams are even.

All eyes will be glued to this years NBA Draft, ours included. It's expected to be a pretty exciting time, with a number of free agents and rumors swirling wildly. As with any party, we'd like to add to the festivities. That's why we put together our top three projected draft picks.

After all, we can't seem to beat the big NBA names and draft Embiid for our own pick-up basketball games, so the next best step would just be to join them. Unless, of course, he wants to be paid in flat basketballs rather than shiny money.

Cause if that's the case, we definitely stand a chance.

1. Joel Embiid, C

In terms of raw talent on the basketball court, Embiid is undoubtedly ranked as a 'Top 3' draft pick. However, his recent string of injuries, including foot surgery just last week, will serve as a hindrance when drafting the big man.

In Embiid's brief 4-year basketball career he has already suffered injuries to his knee, back and now foot. The navicular bone, located towards the arch of the foot, is the slowest healing bone in the human body, and Embiid's recent surgery included adding two screws to the navicular bone, which would put his recovery time at around 4-6 months.

The Cavaliers and Bucks have the first two draft picks and are likely looking for a player to start up right away. If Embiid can stay healthy, he is projected to have a fruitful NBA career. However, as in the case of Greg Oden, injuries can destroy the careers of big men.

2 & 3. Andrew Wiggins and SG Jabari Parker, SF

It's hard to pick the better between these two projected 'Top 3' picks. Parker and Wiggins are both listed as small forwards, although Parker has the capability to play shooting guard. With Embiid out due to injury Parker and Wiggins will likely hopscotch him to the top two positions.

Parker has stated that his does not wish to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and if given the choice would like to go to the Bucks. Milwaukee could be a nice fit for Parker; he would basically have the franchise all to himself.

Wiggins would be a great addition for the Cavs, as they already possess one of the best young talents with player Kyrie Irving. The only draw back with the two prospects is that they are both freshmen in college. Only time will tell whether the lack of experience plays a role in their development.

After all, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant came directly out of high school to the NBA and their careers couldn't have been better. But perhaps it would be best to consider LeBron and Kobe anamolies in the grand scheme of things.

We're not sure how often sports figures break the mold, but both of those legendary players are the exception -- and not the rule -- to the tricky draft equation.
