The "Mean Girls" actress has reportedly filed a case against "GTA 5" makers for allegedly game character much like her without permission, reports the Associated Press.

According to the report, the actress filed the lawsuit Wednesday in a Manhattan court although it did not specify if Lohan listed Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games or both as defendants in the case.

Citing the lawsuit, the Associated Press report says that the case centered on the "GTA 5" character Lacey Jonas who, according to Lohan was an "unequivocal" reference to her. The said character reportedly made use of the actress' "image, voice and styles from her clothing line" without permission, adds the report.

Game Spot reports that the Lacey Jonas character is actually part of a mission in "GTA 5" wherein players are tasked to give a "Lohan-like character" a ride past the paparazzi and take her home.

In addition, one of the missions of the game takes place at a hotel pretty much like West Hollywood's Chateau Marmont - incidentally a place where Lindsay Lohan once lived, says the Associated Press report. VG 24/7 says that the said mission involved "photographing a red-headed actor."

Although it seems that the lawsuit has only been filed this year, Lindsay Lohan actually caught wind of Lacey Jonas months ago. Late last year, the actress reportedly consulted her lawyers regarding the "GTA 5" character, claims TMZ.

"Sources tell us, Lohan's lawyers are currently crafting a lawsuit -- demanding Rockstar Games pay some serious money for using Lindsay's image in the game," said TMZ.

The game dropped on past-gen consoles PS3 and Xbox 360 in September of last year. It sold a whooping 11.21 million copies within 24 hours of launch, says The Fuse Joplin, and brought in $800 million to Rockstar Games.

The PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of the game are expected to roll out sometime in fall of this year though a specific release date has not yet been announced. An Amazon listing suggests an October 28, 2014 release date but the alleged launch day is best taken with a grain of salt.

Whether or not the next gen and PC versions will still include Lacey Jonas, Rockstar Games promises that the upcoming rendition will have "across-the-board graphical and technical improvements" such as "increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, and enhanced resolutions."
