Mexican boxing sensation Saul "Canelo" Alvarez has taken to social media to share his training routine for his much-expected match against Floyd Mayweather Jr., which is due to take place on September 14 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Canelo, who has become a fan favorite in Mexico, has spent the last few weeks training in Big Bear, California, where he is getting ready for what is seen as his toughest match to date. The 23-year-old boxer has shared pictures of several parts of his training. On his Instagram account, Canelo can be seen running under the sun, training in the boxing ring, doing push-ups or taking a moment to relax and play the guitar.

The young boxer has also taken time to write about how much fan support he has received during the weeks prior to the fight against Mayweather Jr.

On the other hand, Mayweather has been more reserved on social networks, tweeting and sharing pics on Instagram that are not directly related to his training process. Boxing fans who wish to know more details about how both boxers prepare for the upcoming fight may tune in to the Showtime original series All Access which has been documenting the weeks prior to the fight in a five episode special.

Alvarez has not been shy about expressing how much this fight means to him and that he thinks of it as a major moment in his career.

Legendary boxer Oscar De La Hoya has said that if Alvarez beats Mayweather it would be the biggest upset in history and it would be the most important victory in the history of Mexican boxing. Mayweather has beaten other prominent Latino boxers in the past, including De La Hoya himself, as well as Miguel Cotto and Juan Manuel Marquez.

Expectations for the fight in Mexico are very high. Canelo has been touted as the biggest boxing star in the country since Julio Cesar Chavez and is very popular among young people. The fight also coincides with the Independence Weekend celebrations in Mexico, which are the country's biggest national holiday so the event is being marketed in the country as one of the most important fights in recent times.
