After the "Avengers" film, audiences were suddenly all about the Hulk because of actor Mark Ruffalo's excellent portrayal of the massive green giant. There have been many rumblings regarding a solo venture of the "big guy," but nothing has been confirmed.

So, now the question is --- will it happen? While no official word has been given, there is reason to be hopeful.

First of all, Ruffalo, who is the present man behind the Hulk, has confirmed that Marvel has been dabbling with the idea of a new solo Hulk film. According to MTV.com, the 46-year-old has already said that he is up for a solo film after the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" finishes filming.

"But Ruffalo says he and Marvel are both getting ready to give the world another "Hulk" movie - even if they're not ready to give the Hulk his own world," writes the music site.

Fool.com also recalls that Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, has publicly mentioned that ideas were being thrown around regarding a possible film.

Another clue? During the filming of the coming-soon flick "Guardians of the Galaxy," Sakaraan soldiers were seen on the set of the film, which sparked rumors that a "Planet Hulk" film would emerge at some point.

Geekytyrant explains that the soldiers were originally introduced as part of the "Planet Hulk" storyline. Now that they've appeared in a Marvel film, there's a big possibility that a tie up somewhere along the way will be introduced, and this will be achieved by making a Hulk film first.

While Ruffalo has indicated his willingness to do a film, he's shot down the possibility that "Planet Hulk" was a potential storyline for the rumored solo Hulk venture.

Spoiler Alert!

Additionally, Hitflix earlier reported that the "Age of Ultron" film will end in such a way that allows the different storylines to branch out. Just like existing franchises like "Thor" or "Captain America," the story of "The Hulk" in this re-booted series of movies must be told.

Hitflix has also reported that the "Planet Hulk" film will probably happen because at the end of the upcoming "Avengers 2," Ruffalo's Hulk will be shot off into space in a pre-programmed Quin jet, which will lead to the Hulk joining the "Guardians of the Galaxy."

In less than a year, we'll have a better idea of what's next for Marvel and the Hulk. The "Avengers: Age of Ultron" is set for release worldwide on May 1, 2015.
