In a move that surprised both conservatives and liberals alike, Glenn Beck announced that he will be traveling to McAllen, Texas in mid-July to deliver toys, hot meals and soccer balls to immigrant children in detention centers.

Stating that Americans must "open our hearts" to immigrant children, Beck will travel to south Texas on July 19 with tractor-trailers full of food, water, and toys for about 3,000 people.

“We’re going to fill some tractor-trailers with food, with water,” Beck said. “The churches have asked us if we could bring teddy bears and soccer balls, so we’ve loaded up a whole tractor-trailer of nothing but teddy bears and soccer balls. And then I’m going to go serve breakfast and lunch, and I’m going to help unload these trucks, hot meals for 3,000. That’s what we’re doing.”

It's an abrupt change of pace for the conservative radio show host, who has until this point been most known for his opinions on terrorism and radical Islam. His viewpoint have bordered on extreme conservatism, at least until now, and have angered those with more liberal viewpoints.

But it seems now Beck may only stand to anger his own political party, who have been staunchly against any immigration reform that involves acceptance rather than removal.

"I’ve never taken a position more deadly to my career than this – and I have never, ever taken a position that is more right than this," Beck claimed, according to The Blaze.

Beck emphasized his stance on immigration, stating that "all those fleeing poverty and violence" should have access to the United States, no matter their medical condition or affiliation.

“Through no fault of their own, they are caught in political crossfire,” Beck said. “And while we continue to put pressure on Washington and change its course of lawlessness, we must also help. It is not either, or. It is both. We have to be active in the political game, and we must open our hearts.”
