A spinoff of 2013's "The Conjuring" has been confirmed and "Annabelle" is going to be the origin story of the film's creepy doll. For curious viewers, the film has just released the first official trailer and it's living up to the hype.

The barely two and a half minute trailer gives audiences a clue as to the origins, power and history of Annabelle. It offers up a few details on Annabelle's past and how she came to be a part of a young family's life. Annabelle entered their home as a gift from husband to wife to complete her existing doll collection.

Unlike the pattern of most movie trailers these days, those that show scenes from various parts of the movie, the "Annabelle" trailer is focused on one main area in history that doesn't give too much away as to the plot or other events that could happen in the movie. It gives an immediate, and gory, series of events that ends with solo footage of "Annabelle."

The simplicity and intensity of the trailer really does the job in delivering a horrific impact on audiences.

"The Conjuring" featured a possessed doll named Annabelle, based on the stories of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. The film's success will be followed by three spinoffs, aside from sequel "The Conjuring 2" which has also been confirmed, reports ScreenRant.com.

"Director James Wan redesigned Annabelle for the movie, giving her a much more disturbing appearance, but in real life Annabelle was just your run of the mill Raggedy Ann doll," says the outlet.
