A new report from Korea suggests that the next generation Samsung Galaxy Note might ditch the plastic chassis for metal and may also get the phablet a curved display.

GforGames reports that according to Korean news outlet ET News, the alleged premium variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will allegedly come with a case made of "premium materials." Included in the list of premium materials that Samsung is allegedly toying with are stainless steel, aluminum and magnesium, GforGames adds.

But the South Korean tech giant is allegedly not stopping at a metal chassis, notes the outlet. Samsung is also reportedly considering a flexible display for the upcoming Note 4. Like the metal chassis, the alleged flexible display will only be integrated to the premium variant of the phablet, claims GforGames.

Should the rumored flexible display on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 indeed be true, it won't be the first device sporting such screen from the company with the previous Korea only launch of the Galaxy Round October of last year.

Load The Game opines that the curved screen "may put off a lot of buyers, buyers that prefer more conventional smartphone designs." The outlet adds that the specification itself may have contributed to the not so successful sales of the Galaxy Round.

However, Samsung seems to have another idea as GforGames says that the company "has upped its flexible display capacity by 50% in preparation for the more than likely high Note 4 demand."

Aside from a rumored curved display and a metal chassis, Tech Radar says that the upcoming phablet could also come with a 16MP rear-facing camera complete with optical image stabilization (OIS). GforGames recalls that rumors have also pointed to a 12MP shooter so as to "increase the light intensity."

The upcoming Samsung phablet is also alleged to come with the Android KitKat 4.4, notes Load The Game. The choice of OS would make sense if the rumored September 5 release date of the device would be true. Google has recently announced the Android 5.0 at this year's I/O but given a very near rumored release date, the Android KitKat 4.4 is more likely.

The International Business Times says that the premium variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 might only be available to South Korea, leaving other countries, including the US, no choice but to settle with the other variant without the rumored curved display and most probably with the usual plastic case.

What do you think? Will we be seeing a premium Samsung Galaxy Note 4 anytime soon?
