Bloody New Video of NYPD Using a Chokehold Surfaces in the Days Following Eric Garner's Death [Watch Here]

Another video in which NYPD are using a chokehold to restrain a handcuffed man is making its rounds on the Internet.

The video has been circulating just days after the tragic death of Eric Garner, in which the NYPD were videotaped restraining the 350 pound asthmatic father for allegedly selling individual cigarettes on the streets of Staten Island.

The new video was recorded on July 14 and has been circulating around Facebook. On the footage, two uniformed NYPD officers struggle with a man at the 125th & Lexington subway stop in Harlem at 3 p.m., as the man refuses to comply with requests from the officers.

On the footage, the cops instruct the man to put his hands behind his back and submit to being arrested, but he refuses, and one officer punches him in the face multiple times while restraining him with a chokehold, which is forbidden to be used as a tactic to restrain under NYPD guidelines.

Blood can clearly be seen dripping onto the tiled floor surrounding the man as several bystanders record the incident on their phones while chastising police.

The NYPD has thus far not not released the names of the victim or the arresting officers. A spokesperson did say that the incident is being reviewed by internal affairs.

The NYPD has become increasingly under fire for their aggressive tactics in the days following Eric Garner's death. The top cop in NYPD has called for his 35,000 officers to be retrained in acceptable methods of restraint after the footage of Eric Garner leaked to the public.

A number of protests have been staged around New York in response to Garner's death. Eric Garner's funeral is scheduled to take place this Wednesday.
