She broke her technical knock out record and--like the irony of ironies--still lost $5,000 because of it, Ronda Rousey revealed in an interview.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight superstar said she had lost a bet when she gave Alexis Davis a knock out within 16 seconds in the UFC 175 co-main event on July 5 this year, MMA Mania said, quoting an MMA in Asia Q&A in Macau.

"A funny thing about that. After I beat Sara McMann in 1:06, my coach and I had a bet. He was like, 'No one is ever going to beat a minute and six second knockout in women's (MMA).' And I was like, 'Yeah, somebody is.' I told him somebody will beat it and then we had a bet going for a couple thousand dollars," she said in the interview.

"She went home a little lighter in the pockets," the MMA Mania report noted, explaining that when Rousey did break her previous record at UFC 170, she didn't realize immediately that she'd still lose the bet even if she broke the record herself, the report added.

"Then I beat it. No, wait, I said that nobody could beat it, that was it. So I ended up beating it myself and I didn't know that I counted. So I actually owe my coach like five grand right now," Rousey said to MMA in Asia. "I don't know if I would make that bet again, but yeah, you know what, I'll say it again. No one will ever beat 16 seconds, including myself. If I do, or somebody else does, then I owe my coach another five grand."

But it was not even half of what she gained afterwards because "Rowdy" earned a $50,000 bonus, based on UFC's "Fight Night" bonus structure.

At the "Weidman vs. Machida" event at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Rousey's now famous knockout earned her "Performance of the Night."

But, who will Rousey fight next?

In a USA Today report, it was noted that  "the UFC women's bantamweight titleholder is ready to share the spotlight."

She's willing to fight newly signed former boxing champ, Holly Holm. "I think that she's not just great for a title fight, she's great for the whole division and giving the women some real legitimacy," Rousey said as quoted by USA Today. "I couldn't be happier about her joining the company."

Rousey's ultimate dream of fighting Gina Carano won't be happening soon, though. USA Today added that negotiations between UFC and Carano's camp "has hit a snag."
