A backstage photo showing Ariana Grande holding hands with rapper Big Sean is one of the most talked about incidents during the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards. 

The 21-year-old hitmaker was spotted getting a bit closer than friends do with rumored new boyfriend Big Sean after she performed "Bang Bang" with Nicki Minaj and Jessie J.

The speculations of her getting intimate with the rapper started when they collaborated for one of the singles in her new album "My Everything."

According to a source of E! News, the two became good pals since the time they got the chance to work together.

Their collaborative track called "Best Mistake" is of a slow tempo style of music and came out a week after reports of Grande breaking up with then boyfriend Jai Brooks spread online.

But Ariana isn't the only one fresh off a relationship. The rapper was formerly in a one year relationship with Naya Rivera but the two called off their engagement in April, stated Celebuzz. After three months, Rivera married actor Ryan Dorsey, a move that shocked most of the "Glee" star's fans.

There were also gossips about the alleged new couple getting cozy at a movie house and some news as well that he's been hanging out more often with Grande's dog.

With all these, "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest took the plunge and asked the singer about the real status between her and Big Sean. 'I don't know what to say," Grande told Seacrest during the conversation.

She later told the host that she will reveal the truth about the rumored new romance when they are no longer on air. "I've known you a long time. I don't know about these millions of people listening in right now," Grande added.
