Football star David Beckham had a bit of a roadside accident when he lost control of his custom bike right in the middle of Sunset Boulevard on Thursday.

Earlier reports indicated the athlete-turned-model escaped unscathed but a recent sighting showed an injured arm.

TMZ caught up with Beckham at LAX and was seen wearing a cast on his right arm. The site wrote: "Becks held up his damaged right mitt as he walked into the terminal with his kids, and photogs asked how he was feeling after laying down his bike on Sunset Boulevard yesterday."

Beckham came from the Shamrock Tattoo shop in West Hollywood and "tumbled off in the middle of the street," an earlier report from TMZ revealed. The accident reportedly happened because Beckham was trying to avoid paparazzi. He then proceeded to walk away from the site and recruited some help from buddies in the tattoo parlor.

An E! Online, source said "David is OK," and the entertainment site went on to explain the incident: "The source said he lost control of his bike while trying to avoid hitting another vehicle that had suddenly swerved towards him amid the ruckus."

Beckham is a bike enthusiast and has also been part of "Into the Unknown," a BBC documentary that follows Beckham and his friends in their Brazilian adventure.

"After 22 years playing for the world's greatest football teams, David Beckham has retired. For the first time in his adult life he has freedom to do whatever he wants and to mark the occasion he's going on an adventure. He's chosen Brazil, and he's taking three of his closest friends to join him on this once in a lifetime experience. Starting with beach footvolley in Rio, the friends travel deep into the Amazon, ending up with the remote Yanonami tribe, with David desperately trying to explain the beautiful game," wrote BBC on its website.

Based on reviews of the footage, many noted that David lacks the eloquence required of a guide, The Telegraph UK observed, but the documentary's redeeming factor is the fact that it was "full of such lovely, unaffected moments."

It was similar to how Metro UK reviewed the piece but it noted how down-to-earth the megastar is. "It's eye-opening because we get to hear about panthers and snakes and see grown men freak out, but more than anything it's a huge eye-opener into everything brand Beckham."

Becks was riding a custom-built Super Vintage 93' Knuckle during Thursday's tumble.
