Strength and Conditioning guru Alex Ariza believes up-and-coming slugger Mikey Garcia is destined to accomplish the feat done by former eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, Ariza told Fight Hype.

Ariza, who is now working with Mikey's brother and reigning Trainer of the Year, Robert Garcia, following his unceremonious split with Pacquiao's camp, said Garcia is showing the same character Pacquiao had at the peak of his career.

The conditioning coach added he's very impressed by the way Garcia took his training to the next level and how he transformed into a bigger and meaner fighting machine.

"I've seen what happened to Manny, especially physically...with how he went to the next level...I'm seeing Mikey doing the same...he's only going to get bigger, stronger...start moving down the divisions," Ariza said.

Breakthrough Year & Multi-Division World Champion

The 25-year old Garcia has already captured a lineal title in the featherweight division when he stopped Orlando Salido in the eighth round of their title fight last January.

Last June, Garcia was stripped of the WBO featherweight title after failing to make the weight limit but retained the Ring Magazine lineal crown in an emphatic fashion after knocking out former champ Juan Manuel Lopez in the fourth round.

This Saturday, Garcia is fighting for the first time in the Super Featherweight division and he's already facing a legitimate champ in Roman Martinez of Puerto Rico.

Ariza said the upcoming showdown between Garcia and Martinez is going to be a great fight with both boxers going for the kill from the opening bell.

"Mikey's fight is going to be good. I think fans are going to enjoy it. I don't see it be boring at all. It's gonna be fireworks," said Ariza in an interview with Fight Hype.

If Ariza's words are true, Garcia's upcoming bout is his first step to becoming a multi-division world champion with the WBO Super Featherweight belt hanging in the balance.

Garcia has not reached his prime yet, but he has been dominant in his last fights as he knocked out every legit contender in his division. Though matching Pacquiao's feat of winning eight championship in as many division would be impossible, Garcia has a shot at success in the Super Featherweight, Lightweight and even Welterweight division if he continues to evolve into a more polished fighter.
