MMA Fighter War Machine (aka Jon Koppenhaver) in a note written prior to a failed suicide attempt, confessed that he "truly loved" porn star Christy Mack whom he allegedly beat last August.

The note, according to MMA Junkie, was addressed to the MMA fighter's friends and family and was reportedly written inside a Las Vegas jail cell where he was detained following his arrest on attempted murder charge.

Earlier reports said that War Machine badly beat Mack in her home, leaving the porn start with numerous bruises, swelling and a lacerated liver.

His note, which was cited by MMA Junkie, also expressed his love for Mack saying that he planned to be with her "forever."

"I loved you more than freedom. That night I was so excited to see you. Finding what I found that night was devastating to me, more than you will ever know. Not just the unfaithfulness, but the way U cared for him and protected him.

"Not a day goes by that I don't wish that you weren't hurt that night, I hope you know that. If I could do it all over again I'd just have laid down and let him beat me up. I forgive you, please forgive me, I love you. In hard times know that I am there to lean on," he said in the note.

War Machine indicated that he has decided to end his life because he "refuses to live a parasitic life, relying on taxes and the generosity of friends for food and shelter, while never being able to give back."

He turned emotional on his message while addressing his family members saying that he still does not understand how he got into such mess.

"My life was going so well. I know that I made mistakes in the past but I had corrected that and was living life correctly. It is one thing to catch a case when you set out to commit a crime, but catching a case when you have nothing but good intentions in your heart is just so hard to accept," he added.

According to news.com.au, the note was found by an officer inside the cell of the MMA fighter at Clark Country Jail where he remains jailed for 32 counts of felony which includes strangulation, sexual assault, kidnapping, coercion and burglary. War Machine's legal counsels are reportedly seeking a plea deal with prosecutors handling his case.

A Yahoo Sports report cited statistics from the Bureau of Justice saying that around 185 inmates took their own lives in prisons in 2011 noting that its rate has been steady for the past 10 years -- averaging 15 incidents per 100,000 inmates all over the United States.
