Benedict Cumberbatch, the star of hit BBC1 series "Sherlock" is teasing audiences regarding a possible role in upcoming film, "Star Wars: Episode VII." The actor sparked speculation of his involvement in the upcoming flick when he neither confirmed nor denied the rumors.

During an appearance on "Graham Norton Show" the 38-year-old admitted to dropping by the set of J.J. Abrams.

According to Mail Online the Irish comedian asked during the show if Benedict would be part of the highly-anticipated film installment, to which the Brit coyly said: "No comment."

"I went to the set. It was incredible," he confessed and then seemed to regret the revelation, "I probably shouldn't be saying these things."

The CelebrityCafe does note that his set visit doesn't necessarily mean a movie role and could have been a simple drop in to see his "Star Trek" director J.J. Abrams.

Not much has been revealed on the plot of the movie only that it takes place 30 years after the events of 1983 film "Star Wars: Episode VI - The Return of The Jedi."

Casting information has been trickling in although it has been confirmed by the studio that original cast Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher will reprise their roles and star in the movie alongside a new trio of young actors.

While awaiting official word on Cumberbatch's involvement, catch the artist in his newest project, "The Imitation Game" where he stars as World War II codebreaker Alan Turing.

"Alan Turing was appallingly served by the government and society at the time. It was very sad. I think he is a national hero and icon and he should be on the back of bank notes and in school text books," quoted The Mirror UK of Benedict.

He also admitted he didn't fully grasp how the Enigma Code was broken: "Not an awful lot stuck. I'm not of that ilk. It was so complicated but I did spend a lot of time trying to figure it out."

Maybe Cumberbatch could play a wookiee? See the clip below of the actor demonstrating his imitation skills by illustrating how well he can do a Wookiee impression. "Star Wars" character Chewbacca is the the friend of original trilogy character Hans Solo -- played by Harrison Ford -- who was also in the a guest in the said episode.

A trailer for the seventh installment of the "Star Wars" franchise has yet to be released. The film is due out next year, Dec. 18, 2015.

Watch the clip below and note the reaction of Ford who sat right beside the "Imitation Game" actor.
